Cirion asked for the aid of the Éothéod led by Eorl the Young against the Balchoth, enemies that came from the East. After the victory of the Battle of the Field of Celebrant (2510), Cirion granted Eorl Calenardhon, later known as Rohan. They exchanged an Oath to come to each other's aid when they were in need. Eorl became the first King of Rohan.
