Description:
Together with Daeron the Minstrel, Mablung acted as a messenger to bear Thingol's greetings to the Mereth Aderthad, the Feast of Reuniting, I, 20.
He partook in the Hunting of Carcharoth with Thingol, Beren and Beleg Strongbow, and he and Beleg were the only warriors from Doriath to fight in the Nirnaeth Arnoediad.
But Mablung is chiefly known for his role in the story of Túrin, where all his efforts to protect Morwen and Níniel turned out to be vain, and where his tidings helped to bring about Túrin's death. He is a conscientious character who gets to face powers that are too strong for him and is "meshed in the Doom of the Children of Húrin". (The Silmarillion, QS, various chapters)
