New Members Challenge 2004-2005
Challenge Details
This is a challenge for new members. By definition, a new member is any member who has been a member for fewer than four months or who, at the time of reading this, has written three (3) or fewer Tolkien fanfics.
Choose one of the following--there are three choices from "The Hobbit," three from "Lord of the Rings," and three from "The Silmarillion." Write a story on any of these prompts. There are no page limits.
The Hobbit
*The Battle of Five Armies from Beorn's POV
*The auctioning off of Bag End (any POV except Bilbo's)
*The White Council deals with the Necromancer.
The Lord of the Rings
* Bilbo's journey after bidding farewell to Gandalf at Bag End
* Éomer / Éowyn receives his / her first horse
* The arrival of the Eagles at the Battle in front of the Black Gates, as perceived by anyone besides Pippin.
The Silmarillion
* First meeting of Celeborn and Galadriel
* Any encounter between Elves and Dwarves before Moria's doors were closed.
* Isildur steals Nimloth's (the White Tree's) fruit.
