Chosen One, The... or not.
Challenge Details
In canonical LOTR, Aragorn is the chosen king of Gondor, the Elessar and Envinyatar.
All very nice, of course, but what happens if this spectacular gamble *doesn't* pay off? The citizens of Gondor decide that just because he's got a Great Big Sword and a Whocking Great Army, that's no reason for him to become their King. "Gondor has no King. Gondor needs no King."
What happens next? Write a Middle Earth where Aragorn *doesn't* become King in Gondor.
