Fell and Fair
16. 20 April, Afternoon
Afternoon of 20 April
So hot! Need shade. And water.
Five sun-rounds spent hiding, dodging enemies, darting from hillock to ditch. Cast off my scorching armour. Must get home. Cool, shady home.
I can bear pain. Wound is shallow. But seeps. And fevers me.
Clumps of trees in the distance. Shade! Must get there.
So tired. But must plod on.
Relief. Trees are cool, shady. Sit against one. Close my eyes.
Pain! An arrow? In my chest! Can't pull it out.
I can bear pain. Can watch blood spurting through my claws.
But shadows fill my eyes... My sight dims to black.
