H - like a hale Halbarad.
4. Unexpected Pleasures - by Gwynnyd
Halbarad woke with the sun in his eyes to see the face of his wife, hair wrapped for traveling, peering down at him anxiously.
"Why are you here?"
She held him flat. "I heard you took a poisoned arrow and were raving with fever. I came to nurse you."
He grinned up at her. "A crease across the ribs two weeks ago but Elrohir drew the poison. I am fine."
The pressure of her hands on his shoulders did not relent, and her eyes flashed. "You never lie abed unless you are sore wounded."
"I recover apace." He reached for her arms and in one smooth movement drew her onto the bed under him. He nuzzled her neck, licking the soft skin under her jaw, and sucked her earlobe. "I can think of another reason to lie abed," he growled.
She protested feebly, then returned his kisses with mounting enthusiasm.
