Elboron becomes Prince of Ithilien and Steward to King Elessar

In the family tree titled "The Line of Dol Amroth" in HoME 12, the son of Faramir, Prince of Ithilien, and Éowyn of Rohan is given the name Elboron; under his name appears the description "Second Prince", which confirms his succession to the princedom.

Aragorn affirmed at his coronation that the office of Steward would remain hereditary:
Faramir... knelt, and said: 'The last Steward of Gondor begs leave to surrender his office.' And he held out a white rod; but Aragorn took the rod and gave it back, saying: 'That office is not ended, and it shall be thine and thy heirs' as long as my line shall last. Do now thy office!'
