This year, I asked for drabbles about either the resistance in Númenor (Anárion of special interest, but anyone you please, really), or else the turning point that never (quite) was. The latter need not be followed up and progress to an AU, but it could go that route if you so desired. Just find a turning point in the story that wasn't exploited and exploit it fictionally.
