2007 Birthday Drabbles
Imhiriel's 2007 Birthday Presents: 4. Sequence - by DKP
A step, a pirouette, a leap, and she was fully lost to the dance, as always. Silken hair rippled; lean limbs traced complex movements; delicate hands wove a story of love, joy, welcome. She ended with wild spins that blurred grass, flowers, faces, time…
With a graceful flourish, she fetched up before their exalted visitor, eyes alight, face aglow, and asked breathlessly:
"Did you like it, Great-Grandfather?"
Watching them, Aragorn thought Celeborn's expression indescribable. The elf's voice was husky with emotion as he bent down to caress the little girl's cheek.
"Oh, yes. You honor both mother and namesake, Lúthien."

A/N: Jan. 07, 2007 – only a little belated. After sending this to Imhiriel, I realized that the reference to delicate hands weaving harkens back to a line in Imhiriel's own wonderful drabble "Bliss and Beauty." I wish I could claim a deliberate tribute, because 1) I adore that drabble, and especially that particular passage in it, and 2) I love the connection to yet another prominent foremother. So I'll just pretend that I meant to do it that way - the subconscious is a peculiar thing anyway...
