Story Summary

On a brief rest, during the journey through the Paths of the Dead, a member of the Grey Company contemplates fear, food, comfort and those he left behind. Written for the “All OCs, All the Time” Challenge. This is a companion piece to Molly Littlefoot’s “Hearth and Home.”

General Comment

What a charming story. How did I miss this?  Engaging OC, enchanting horse, lovely Hobbits.  I only wonder at the height of the tunnel.  Did any of them thwack forehead into rock as they rode along?  LOL

General Comment

Thank you for the comments Gwynnyd, I'm glad you discovered my little OC fic and enjoyed it.

As for the tunnel, I'm sure, being experienced riders, the clever fellows probably road low over the mounts necks and thereby avoided any serious cranial trauma.

And Molly, thanks for the continued support, the positive comments and the generous loan of the Littlefoot family for inclusion in my fic.

Oooh, Gwynnyd, I forgot to mention in my last comment...might I suggest (if you haven't already read it) Molly's Hearth and Home which is also about the Littlefoot family and their Ranger friend.
