I found this a very interesting AU, convincing and very creepy. Each vignette had a distinct point to make, and I found that the concept of highlighting these individual anecdotes (rather than presenting an overarching narrative) worked very well.

@Virtuella:
This is actually the first AU story I'v ever done - and these were the first drabbles - so this has been a very interesting process. Some of them give me plotbunnies for longer narratives, but I really like the discipline of this short form, and I'm glad you found the anecdotal approach to be a strength.

It was a First for me, too - the first HASA story I reviewed (and, obviously, approved). It would be interesting to see a longer narrative on the topic. I wonder if, given time, some orcs might not be somehow, you know, reformed by the Hobbits.

I very much enjoyed this. There's something sickeningly endearing about many of these characters and circumstances. I think a story has to be very well-done to justify AU, and this is thoroughly justified. You fit a lot of memorable and varied material into such brief vignettes.

Hi Huinárë, welcome to HASA. Sickeningly endearing" - I like that a lot! That's some of what I feel about them as well, so it's nice to hear that reaction from someone else. Thank you for commenting.
