Story Summary

Erestor sails to Valinor and finds himself involved with someone he was infatuated with as a youth. Based upon the request by Darth Fingon, in the 2009 Ardor in August fic swap, for Finarfin/Erestor, set in the Fourth Age in Aman, including secrecy and moral doubt. Did not want a fluffy, happy romance and if Earwen is part of the story and/or finds out about the affair, she should not be soppily happy for them.

General Comment

Oshun - you do such justice to Finarfin! I can just see him prostrating himself before the Valar rather than keeping faith with the 'rebels', his friends, brothers, cousins, children! For he betrays Eärwen just as he betrayed them. In all seriousness, I think this is one of the better Finarfin stories.

Someone who got my storyline AND the subtext as well as the backstory AND and an implicit expression of sympathy with my own canon heresy or dislike of the Finarfin fanon (take your pick)! Geez, that never happens (well almost never).

General Comment

Blush! That was one of the nicest compliments I've gotten in a long time. Finarfin's one of my least favorite Elves, if only for the way he is typically compared to his brothers, and we're also on the same page regarding Erestor. With the exception of LACE conformity, I see him as the same ol' scholar-warrior-counsellor-Kinslayer-skeptic; indeed your "Kiss and Tell" was an inspiration.
