One fair Rivendell evening, Bilbo chances to see Lord Elrond without his usual mask of stoicism. For the first time, Bilbo realizes that the famed Lord hides pain and vulnerability underneath his compassion and bravery. Bilbo resolves to become a boon companion to Elrond, come what may.
