4. Oh, Better Far to Live and Die

For all those of you who believe Thranduil is not evil, you are wrong. He is. He has hijacked my filk!muse and will not give him back.

I told him this is International Legolas Month Song Parody Palooza, not International Any Blond Elf You Want Month...etc. He didn't care.

So, technically, he is singing to Legolas in this filk ... a stretch, I know, but he is quite stubborn and persistant.

-----------------------------------------------------------------

THRANDUIL:
Oh, better far to live and die
With golden hair and grey-blue eye,
When I shall never play a part
In maiden dream or elleth heart.
Away to the amorous world go you,
Where blond elves all are well-to-do;
But I'll be true to the song I sing,
And live and die an Elven King.
For I am the Elven King!
And it is, it is a glorious thing
To be an Elven King!
For I am the Elven King!

MIRKWOOD ELVES:
You are!
Hurrah for the Elven King!

THRANDUIL:
And it is, it is a glorious thing
To be the Elven King!

MIRKWOOD ELVES:
It is!
Hurrah for the Elven King!
Hurrah for the Elven King!

THRANDUIL:
When you chose to join the Fellowship
You should have known the girls would flip.
They act more brazen, it is true,
Than well-bred ladies ought to do;
But very few kings on a first-class throne,
When they let their son out on his own,
Must watch him make the girls insane
And that is why in Mirkwood I remain,
For I am the Elven King!
And it is, it is a glorious thing
To be an Elven King!
For I am the Elven King!

MIRKWOOD ELVES:
You are!
Hurrah for the Elven King!

THRANDUIL:
And it is, it is a glorious thing
To be an Elven King.

MIRKWOOD ELVES:
It is!
Hurrah for the Elven King!
Hurrah for the Elven King!
