1. Fell Beasts and Dragon Lore — Tanaqui
by Tanaqui
What could he who arose in might and fell in darkness not twist to his own ends? The beasts of the field – and the birds of the air.
In the youth of the world, they outmatched all with feather and talon – save those who chose to clothe themselves so at the Elder King's behest. When Thangorodrim fell, they fled into the dark, haunting the legends of Men who had never known the light.
But evil draws evil, as a lodestone turns to the North. From the East they returned, to home in the new-reared peaks of he who walked behind.

Fight fire with fire. The spies of Eru's favoured child were a mere pinprick compared to the burning pain of the jewels, the weight of the iron crown, but He would have them gone.
He soon learned that beak and talon, moulded to His needs, were no match for spirits that clothed themselves deceitfully in the flesh of fowls. He must meet like with like.
Most refused his call: they would not sacrifice the mutability of shadow and flame. But some, eager to spill the false blood of their kin, robed themselves in horn, and scale, and flame, and cunning.
Happy birthday, Elena Tiriel!!! {{{hugs}})
