6. Boromir -- Frodo

He looks afraid... And well he should be, here in the wilderness, with so few swords and but one bow to stand between him and the terror of the dark. He listens to the howling wolf voices...Yet now he frowns, his head turns, his thoughts inward... Can he hear Its voice, whispering encouragement to our shaggy, snarling pursuers, beckoning our attackers to come to us-- to him? I hear It, in my dreams, and awake... Must not that Voice be a constant din to him, so close to It, touching It, feeling that small precious thing, always near him?
