"Fruitless did I call the victory of the Last Alliance? Not wholly so, yet it did not achieve its end" - Elrond, FOTR
My conception of Erestor borrows from Oshun's in 'Kiss and Tell' and 'You Do No Justice To Yourself', and SpaceWeavil's in 'Take the Little Ones' (though his role in my stories is played by his heart-son, Tanamir).
Ch. 2. Dior was about 36 years old when he died. Why he was (ruling) King of the Sindar at that age, I do not know.
Chs. 4-5. Here Celebrian is Hithriel's second cousin (through Finwë), making Celebrian Erestor's "kinswoman".
Ch. 6. The "Tall ships and tall kings.." poem, is, of course, directly taken from TTT. The arguments over whether Erestor or Glorfindel was 'elder' would depend on whether G's time in Mandos was counted; here, E was born about 200 years before the destruction of the Two Trees, and G (in his first life) about 800 years before E.
Ch. 8. Erestor's incantation is the ending of the Oath of Feanor (in Quenya); see http://www.elvish.org/gwaith/mrezac.htm
Ch. 9. The idea of Gandalf giving Glamdring to Glorfindel is borrowed from Aiwendiel's 'The Reluctant Warrior'. Inglor Aegnorion is my (AU, supposing Aegnor and Andreth chose differently) answer to the "Gildor Inglorion, of the House of Finrod" problem.
