2. Example of Layout Format

Author's note:

A brief author's note, no more than one paragraph long. Comments irrelevant to HASA, such as references to reviews of previous chapters, should be cut entirely or thrown into a notes chapter at the end.


Text of chapter. Any footnotes should be indicated in this manner, in parentheses after the end of the sentence and numbered consecutively. (1) Asterisks and other special symbols are less desirable as they do not always appear consistently in different browsers.

If you have used bold to emphasize words, or italics, or underlining, or even ALL CAPS, fine. We don't care that much and it would be far too much trouble to try to change all of those.


If there are internal breaks and sections in the chapter, a 3-asterisk line sets them off. Using 3 asterisks will help distinguish subsections as opposed to end of story.


(1) Brief footnote. This can be definitions, references, whatever.
(2) Brief footnote.
