The Wedding feast had been amazing; Prince Imrahil spared no expense!  The only thing Éomer regretted was that the whole day and night passed by in a blur!  He remembered standing before Aragorn, waiting for his bride to appear.  He was nervous, more so than he had been when before the gates of Mordor!  It must have showed, for Gamling leaned close and whispered encouragement into his ear.

Then he saw her, radiant, stunning, beautiful; Éomer believed she must have been dressed by the Valar, themselves.  Her simple gown of white hugged her delicate frame and trailed behind her.  The gold betrothal brooch Éomer had given her—a Rohirrim tradition—was pinned to her bodice, drawing the eye to the delicate neckline of the dress.  It was a striking focal point and Éomer was honored that she would choose to wear it, as it was not a flashy, bejeweled thing; it was just a simple pair of entwined horse heads surrounded by delicate scroll-work.  A wreath of flowers, interspersed with tiny gems, adorned her head, to complete her attire.  Lothiriel took his breath away.

Now Éomer lay in the comfort of his own soft bed with his wife curled next to him, her head lying on his chest.  Last night they had finally consummated their union properly.  It had been incredible and intense, even though it was not their first time together.  The king tucked his arm behind his head as he looked out at the pre-dawn sky and thought back to how this whole wonderful thing came to be; it had been quite the adventure getting to where they were now….
