And at last, the Council- but again, you dont re-write Tolkien, and I love you for that- it's either from another perspective or outside the written pieces - love the bit with Legola sin the tree, thinking and working out what needs to be done, the memory of the attack, his resentment of Imladris- it must have annoyed Thranduil no end! I have always thought that too.

Ziggy - yes, on the whole, rather as you do in Sons of Thunder, I try to avoid straight rewrites of things we have in detail in JRRT (he did it best, after all!) and go for writing "round the edges" or presenting other perspectives. I'm glad you like that Legolas-in-the-tree episode, it's very dear to my heart
