"We have been made part of a story whose tellers cannot comprehend what has been created within it."
Love that line, and I love the philosophical wrangling in this chapter. I also love the theme throughout your story of the frustrations of mortals who actually interact with the Powers and know themselves to be pawns. It's very poignant.

Hi Raihon,
(Sorry for the delay in answering.) Yay, a reader who gets the point of the story! The philosophical wrangling is the heart of HotK, calling into question the nature of divine power and the autonomy of the beings that inhabit the created world. When is the moral authority of the creation greater than that of the creator? Is the tale simply the work of the teller? Is the ability to destroy or bring to an end a creation sufficient to justify (render moral or ethical) such power? Etc.
