Ch. 14: Chapter Fourteen--Tyelkormo
I love this chapter. It always fascinates me that you are able to reveal so much about the other characters in the chapters done in Tyelkormo's POV. In their chapters he often comes across as a child who is undeniably beautiful to look at--all golden hair and blue eyes--but such a thoughtless roughneck. Yet when he speaks for himself there is so much more going on. And he is nothing if not honest with himself.
A couple of points especially moved me in this one. First Feanor's horror when he discovered that he had bruised Tyelkormo's arm without realizing it when he was scolding him for being a beast to Findekáno. (A little anger management problem there, Feanor? Hurting the ones you love most?) Then little Carnistir getting inside of Tyelkormo's head, sensing his jealousy of Findekáno and saying, "I love you Turko don't be mean." Carnistir drives one nuts with his behavior and then stops one cold with his expressions of love.
You make me love them all so much.
