Ch. 28: Chapter Twenty-Eight--Feanaro
Love this chapter which analyzes the thought processes of the most creative and complex of all of Tolkien's characters from his own point of view. It is believable that you suggest Feanor himself does not understand his own mode of functioning. The details on the circumstances surrounding his development of the tengwar script is both fun and moving. The interaction between him and Nerdanel is completely plausible and his reflections on how he depends upon her and considers the present and past of their relationship are fascinating. I like the way you handle the use of ósanwe between Feanor and Nerdanel—not so easy to do convincingly in work such as yours which is so rooted in identifiable experiences and emotions, but which you pull off well.
