This is an interesting story. I wish that Tolkien had included something like this in his Mirror of Galadriel chapter.

Thanks, Ch_ris_l. We aren't given a description of how it was that Galadriel managed to capture Earendil's light within the starglass, so I found myself wondering how it was done and how this might have contributed to her return eventually to Aman. Thanks so for the comments! I'm so glad you found it fit with your concepts of the overlying story.
