I would like to comment on the use of going deaf would be hard a person such as an elf. Even elves are not immune to things. I also like the way you used the surroundings to help out the elf. We would also do that in real life. I worked with the blind and it is not easy. Thanks again for a very interesting story about an elf going deaf. I cried.

Change one small detail and everything changes; this is a sound theory often used to great advantage in sci fi. Good use of movie verse dialogue.
The second to last sentence in the first paragraph is somewhat awkward.
