Waiting for the next chapter of "A Bit of Rope"... not bad, not bad indeed! I like the inner doubts of Gandalf, especially the uncertainty whether he will be revived or not should he die... Very interesting. And there is this sense of "something is going to happen"... really well-handled.
One thing: you're a smoker, aren't you? I am, and I feel exactly the same as Gandalf about a fine ciggie :)

Dear Glirnardir, thanks for discovering this old chestnut (as Bilbo might say.) I believe it was the first f-fic I posted here. And I am an ex-smoker -- my RW profession pretty much precludes smoking without considerable embarrassment (I am a cancer doctor!) but I still dream of nicotine and a good drag of smoke!
Of course, this particular tale is not precisely internally consistent with some of my other work -- too much detailed prescience on the wizard's part. But oh what the hey, things evolve, and even the Professor wasn't always consistent! Thanks for being a keen reader!
