Why not, indeed! Don't think anyone's pointed out the connection between those Two Trees before - yet, it is fitting! Had missed this on the first reading - there are still gems to be found in the second :) This is really a great tale..

I think Pippin would be happier working as Boromir's messenger than as a kitchen boy. Glad Boromir thought of it. And if Boromir thinks his father is unhappy with what he's been told so far--just wait until Denethor realizes that Aragorn is Thorongil, his former rival!
