"The Farmer seemed about to ask the tall Elf to swear to keep his secrets too, then appeared to think better of it." - Haha! What a line!
It took me until this chapter to figure out who Iaurel was. Interesting to see that the Valar are still up to their old tricks. They tend to backfire rather regularly...

Two chapters to catch up- brilliant. I think you have absolutely 'got' Tolkien's tone in this chapter. Iarual is very Silm and Frodo very hobbity even though he is so wounded. But in this we see Frodo's recovery deepen and be challenged too when he heards what Iaurel has to tell him. You have drawn Iaurel so fabulously well- this is alomost a sequel to Rope actually; it has a sort of magical quality that referes back to The Hobbit and is not in LOTR -I feel LOTR loses the magic for its epic proportions in many ways but you have got that back.

Well, we readers already have met him, and have seen him at his work, and I'd guessed at his identity. But such horror to have to recount and hear it told for the first time since! And of course Gandalf would befriend him....
Well done!
