Hmm... several things strike me in this chapter... Having Eomer be the comforting presence at first rather than Gimli (nice touch, continuing to crank up that crackling tension); the thread of Elladan's thoughts of Imrahil... intriguing, though I am trying not to make too much of it (for the moment, til more evidence is forthcoming!!); hints of all sorts of possible outcomes between the Twain and Legolas; and the Mouth himself-- ugh, those teeth! Yechh, one of the most memorable bits of movie-verse, one I had finally managed to forget, thank you for bringing the image back... shudder... And I am so curious about where you are going with Gandalf/Olorin and his relationship to Sauron over the eons... And of course, on top of all of that, just spectacular imagery, angst, Elrohir's beautiful struggle against the Nazgul... alas, poor Kathuphazgân, what a jaw-cracker, as Sam might have said... great work, please more, soon!

Do you know, there IS something isn't there, about Gandalf and Sauron. There has to be a link if you think that Sauron is Gandalf's great work and when he is gone, Gandalf can go home. I just think it needs a little exploring but I haven't got time right now- it might be a short piece...ah, the words are coming now...
I cut the dialogue between Elrohir and the Mouth quite significantly so I hope it was more intense as a result. But that was one of the scenes that was already written in my head and it was just getting there.
Yes- I felt guilty for Kathuphazgân - he deserved more.
I am so looking forward to seeing what you are going to do with 'Rope' and Iaurel in particular, with whom I am absolutely besotted!!

Ah, wonderful once again. Poor Éomer, and how interesting that he helps bring Legolas back.
I've been wondering how Gandalf feels the ring's destruction too. I hadn't really thought of how interconnected Sauron and Gandalf have to be, each aware of the other, since Gandalf got to middle earth?
Great good for thought! Thanks, Andrea

And still you torture your readers! Legolas is gradually working out just how screwed-up Elrohir is, huh?
Loving the description of Gimli and his song again. And the reminders of just how much family history, both for Legolas and the Sons of Elrond, there is in this place...
And oh, gods, the Mouth of Sauron's lies (I hope!!) about Thranduil and his kingdom. Truly, truly horrible.
One tiny note about the use of "thee/thou" - I think where you have "Thy father will never understand how thee stood and watched!' it should be "how thou didst stand and watch!" (could be "stoodest", but that looks a bit odd to modern eye... but definitely thou rather than thee).
