Spring Ride

This is a fascinating glimpse into the ride to battle that Merry undertook with 'Dernhelm'. The sense of isolation he feels, both for himself and his companion is just right, I think.
The moment of hope and recognition of life continuing is lovely - and his companion's reaction, therefore even more... heart-wrenching I think is the word.
