Ch. 1: Prelude: Evil at Day's End
Larner, thank you for the beginning of yet another of your wonderful tales.
I particularly enjoy the way poor Master Galador has still not been able to cast off his old notions, and still thinks tha the knows better than the King.
I'm lookiung forward to the next chapter.

Just started reading this after a hiatus. This chapter finely sets up the issues and the characters involved. Intriguing how all our familiar friends are woven together into this tale with new OCs. Well done, and I look forward to reading on!

I'm really enjoying this, Larner, thank you very much.
It's good to see that the case is being investigated thoroughly even before the Judges leave Minas Tirith, and that Aragorn is determined that everyone is to know what proper justice is.

A wonderfully understated commentary on truth, and on fathers -- and foster fathers, guardian-cousins and all other father figures -- and sons. Loved the line: My adar, embarrass anyone? Not, I fear in the last five thousand years at the very least. Now there's a story idea: Elrond doing something to embarrass his children...

Ch. 12: An Evening's Discussions
Another captivating chapter, so much once hidden is beginning to surface! And so many are not what they seemed. Rich characterizations. Makes me want to read straight through to the end... But Ipromise to pause now and then and leave a comment!

Another well crafted chapter. Harolfileg is proving to be both skilled as a healer and, true to his nature, as a finder of truth, whether the source is the trees or the innocent young mortals. What everyone knows, indeed! beautifully done!

Ch. 17: And Whom Might We Suspect?
Okay, a chapter with two dreams come true: an Ent, hiding in plain sight, and jugglers in clown face paint! Delightful.

Ch. 23: Journey Toward Judgment
Now, everything and everyone has gathered for the final reckoning. Such a lo of threads to hold and weave together, and so skillfully done! I can't wait to see how all these characters react in the audience to come with 'the fosterling'!

Ch. 24: On the Way to Judgment
Perfect portrayals of true justice. Spot -on excellent descriptions of Aragorn, the Hobbits and the Anarion characters. I'd certainly love to have Sam's scone recipe -- even better than Bilbo's, on the word of a wizard!

Yes! I was wondering when that wax-cast footprint would reappear! As somebody famous once said, if you place a loaded pistol on the table in the first act, it must go off before the final curtain! Splendid, splendid -- justice and mercy both handed down in good measure!

Thanks for the background story, as horrible as it is. In every age, in every world, imaginary or otherwise, I suppose, these mortal woes seemed doomed to recur -- domestic abuse, substance addiction, intimidation and bullying, uncontrolled rage, conspiracy theories, mob mentality and institutionalized prejudice. Sigh.Plus ça change, plus c'est la même chose. I do appreciate your desire to put things to rights, for once.
Thanks for a gripping and enjoyable tale.
