Location: Coastline on the Bay of Balar west of the mouths of the River Sirion.
Description: It is described as 'the high country of Arvernien'. On Tolkien's map the designation applies to a section of coast between the Sirion and South Falas. It encompasses the highlands, the Birchwoods of Nimbrethil, Cape Balar, and the marshes on the westernside of the river mouth.
